Cold welding takes center stage in Düsseldorf

From April 13 to 17, 2026, STRECKER will once again exhibit at wire 2026 in Düsseldorf, presenting a comprehensive cross-section of its welding technology portfolio for the wire and cable industry. Visitors can meet the team in Hall 10, Booth A21.
As an internationally active family business with more than 90 years of experience in butt welding technology, STRECKER provides complete solutions for individual manufacturing processes, covering a wide range of materials and production requirements.
Over 20 butt welding machines for steel and non-ferrous applications
At wire 2026, more than 20 different welding machines will be on display, representing the breadth of STRECKER’s portfolio.
The exhibition will include:
• Electric butt welding machines for steel, copper, aluminum and brass
• Solutions for solid wires, strands and conductor cables
• Fully hydraulic welders with automatic deburring systems
• Pneumatic welders for high-volume wire production
• Cold welders for non-ferrous wires
The presentation reflects STRECKER’s approach of continuously optimizing proven welding systems while adapting them to evolving production requirements in wire drawing and cable manufacturing.
Cold welding technology with upgraded KSC400 and KSC500
Cold welding will be one of the central themes at STRECKER’s booth in Düsseldorf. The company has recently upgraded its cold welding range, including the KSC400 and KSC500 models, which have undergone technical improvements and a design facelift.
KSC400: compact cold welder for fine wire applications
The KSC400 is designed for non-ferrous wire applications with the following welding ranges:
• Copper: Ø 0.8 – 4 mm (0.031 – 0.157 in)
• Aluminium: Ø 0.8 – 5 mm (0.031 – 0.197 in)
The machine is particularly suitable for manufacturers processing small to medium wire diameters who require reliable solid-phase joining without thermal influence on the material structure.
KSC500: extended capacity with pneumatic clamping and upsetting
For larger diameters, the KSC500 expands the application range:
• Copper: Ø 1.0 – 5 mm (0.039 – 0.197 in)
• Aluminium: Ø 1.0 – 6.5 mm (0.039 – 0.256 in)
The integration of pneumatic clamping and upsetting supports process stability and repeatability, especially in demanding production environments where consistent joint quality is required.
You can watch the KSC-400 and KSC-500 machines in operation on Strecker’s website: view the KSC-400 video and the KSC-500 video.
