The latest astonishing product of modern tecnology was introduced in 1989, as an alternative to natural diamond, of which it shows similar characteristics.

At present the synthetic monocrystal produced by Sumitomo and De beers, has good chances of etering the drawing sewctor, also considering that its natural equivalent is not always available.
