Prima Zanetti Srl
Fasteners

Founded in 1961, Prima Zanetti is one of the leading European manufacturers of precision small metal parts made to customer drawings and produced through cold forming from metal wire.

The company has a strong international presence, exporting over 65% of its production and serving industrial sectors such as automotive, railway, electromechanical, household appliances, electronics, automation, and construction.

Production of metal components through cold forming

The company’s core business is the cold forming of wire, carried out using automatic multi-station progressive presses with up to five dies, including renowned models from Sacma, Salvi, and National Machinery.

This technology enables the production of complex components with high dimensional accuracy, without machining waste and at competitive costs compared to turning or chip removal processes, allowing production volumes of up to 3 million pieces per day.

A wide range of raw materials can be used, including silver, pure iron, low-carbon steel, boron heat-treatable steels, copper, brass, stainless steel (ferritic and austenitic), aluminum, and alloys. The wire diameter range used goes from 0.8 mm to 15 mm.

Custom small metal components and parts

Prima Zanetti manufactures a wide range of precision metal components developed according to the customer’s technical specifications, including:

- solid and semi-tubular rivets
- custom rivets and pins
- smooth and knurled rods
- multi-diameter pins
- truncated spherical pins
- shafts and cores
- threaded and knurled parts
- components with through holes
- spacers
- dumper stems
- special screws
- tubular parts and eyelets

Indicative dimensions include diameters up to about 15 mm and lengths up to 80 mm, depending on the component geometry and required tolerances.

Complementary processing and technical support

In addition to cold forming, Prima Zanetti offers several in-house secondary operations, including mechanical reworking through turning, knurling, rolling, threading, and heat treatments. The production cycle can also include washing, degreasing, polishing, and oiling, as well as electroplating treatments carried out through certified partners.

The company also supports customers during the design and co-design phases using 3D CAD software and FEM simulations to optimize the forming process and improve component performance.

Sustainability and environmental responsibility

Prima Zanetti has started a monitoring program to assess the environmental impact of its activities, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The company performs regular evaluations of its performance and operates in line with the principles of ISO 26000.

The company uses energy from certified CO₂-free suppliers. Special attention is also given to the traceability of raw materials, in compliance with Conflict Minerals regulations, ensuring transparent supply chains aligned with international sustainability standards.
